Bio
Miami's own Mr Liqer, born Mauricio Zamorano in 1984 of Colombian roots in New York City, the son of working class parents who struggled to provide him and his sister the best life they could, Mr. Liqer grew up listening to a wide variety of their music that quickly became part of his life. He had a special interest in rhythm and lyrics, two elements that strengthen his energetic style today and the reputation of a “devil with a flow”. Music is what helped Mr. Liqer stay on the path that fulfills him, making his way to the center of the bumpin’ crowd. This top-shelf performer started serving up his style of rhymes in front of crowds early in his career, he started developing his own unique groove and finding a more concentrated focus that deviated from the normal gansta vibe. As he puts it, “I ain’t gotta be a dope man to be dope, man,” Mr. Liqer boasts proudly that his vibe is all about the party, staying provocative in his music and cocky in his attitude, opting to choose the fun side over seriousness any time. As Liq’s honest and often provocative lyrics balance out perfectly over any beat he jumps on, he continues to have his fingers on the pulse on the Miami rap scene and what’s hot. The music itself is conscious without being pretentious or too obvious – just like Mr. Liqer himself. When he hits the mic, he does so with a fresh vibe, rapping with quick and intelligent rhymes, the whole time giving the crowd what they want, hitting their sweet spot each time, keeping the party going all night long. But overall, there’s no doubt Mr. Liqer continues to move forward in the right direction: he keeps a vibe that represents him in the best sense, stays open and outrageously funny, reaches his audience with his own personal truths, and collaborates with other like-minded artists that are up-and-coming. Slam down shots with Mr. Liqer now, because the party’s just begun…
