Meet the Man: Daniel "Big D." Wilson "Give a man a pen and a pad and he'll write a story but add a simple drum beat and a guitar or piano and he'll make art," says Daniel "Big D." Wilson. Big D. has been rapping since he was ten years old. Highly influenced by rap group Bone thugs-n-harmony, his music is heartfelt and emotional. He started out just writing and rapping acapella and recorded his first song to an original beat in 2006. Now 25 years old, Big D. hopes to get signed to a major record deal. His first self-titled album released in 2006 and while received as a good effort, lacked the quality and the pure motivation to be a great album. In 2009, after a period away from music, Big D. came back and was better than ever. Featuring 17 tracks of pure emotion, the original album, "Dead Inside" released on March 1st, 2009 and was a huge success. Backed by the beats of VTZ and the production from Str8 Wit Records' founder, Lil Na8, "Dead Inside" was an instant classic! Big D. is back once again and ready to present "Out of My Mind," an album he wrote in 2008, recorded in 2009 and finished in 2011! 12 all-new tracks and a bonus track from Lil Na8 featuring Big D. round out this amazing new album! Big D. has teamed up with VTZ once again and the mixing/mastering on "Out of My Mind" are leaps and bounds beyond that of "Dead Inside" thanks to Lil Na8 of Str8 Wit It Records. With the help of his wife, a friend and of course the tireless efforts of Lil Na8, Big D. has produced an album complete with covers and discs that rival professional releases. The subject matter in Big D.'s highly emotional tracks is mostly about true-to-life feelings and experiences (songs like "Here I Am"). Big D. is always willing, though, to get down on hardcore Hip-Hop tracks (songs like "I'm The Man"). Big D. always has something to say back to the haters as well (songs like "Da Flow"). Perhaps the most memorable tracks from this outstanding artist are his ballads of emotional strength which he refers to as a self-proclaimed Blues-Rap genre. "Jimmy Told Me" takes listeners on a journey of love, life, death and the effects our loved ones have on us when they pass away. "What Did I Do Wrong?" is from the perspective of a child who is watching his parents go through a divorce and wondering what he did wrong to cause his parents to split up. "Dream of You" is a ballad to his wife and talks about the idea of always wanting to be around the person you love. Big D. would love to become the next big rap artist and revive rap back to what it used to be: true, inspiring, and from the heart music. However, his main purpose is to just have fun doing what he loves. With the help of Lil Na8 of Str8 Wit It Records, Big D.'s music is professionally mixed, mastered and ready to show the world the real Big D!
