Born Ramon Lamar Downs, Minnesoda aka Soda boy was raised in the drug and gang infested steets of Northside Side Minneapolis, Minnesota. The state where comedians say "the only black person is Prince". Parcipating in virtually every form of street life imaginable Soda chose music as an alternate route. Not until durning his last five year stint in prison did he get serious about his music growing tiresome of the in and out of jail thing. Says," he tried college just to many distractions at the time." Being labeled the "Morris Day and the Time" his hunger and fire to give a true representation of Minnesota an the MidWest period. But he says, moving to Atlanta was the best move he could've made. The market in Minnesota is scarce and there's too many haters. He's serious about craft and has perfected it to a point where it can't be copied or mimicked. Look for a break out career soon. No hype no buzz just a cold as flow.
