Allowing our imaginations to run wild. As children, we\\\'ve all done IT- standing infront of the mirror with a remote control or hairbrush in our hand- singing songs by our favourite musician(s). Some may have included choreography to personal performances when pretending to be ones favourite musician(s); allowing imaginations to run wild. How many of us who have mimicked our favourite musician(s) can say they turned their imaginations into reality? Empress can and did. Born and raised in Ghana and Canada, this sultry songstress has been on the scene since she was 12. She began singing in her church choir and at school concerts. Most recently Empress headlined at the Red Lipsticks concert with various Ghanaian divas like Ohemaa Mercy, Sherifa Gunu, and Efya. Empress musical genre is Hip Jazz, a fusion of hip pop and jazz. This genre is a perfect combination of her personality which can be described as adventurous, serene, and fun. With musical influences including: Akosua Agyeapong, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Angelique Kidjo , and Ray Charles; there is no doubt that Empress debut album will bring a vibrant sound- appealing to ones ear drums. The debut album titled \\\" Coming Home\\\" is infused with sounds of African flavour, bongo drums, and jazz. Slated for release in 2012, this album is sure to deliver a mixture of fire and water. \\\" I want my music to empower and inspire.\\\"- Empress Born in Accra Ghana, migrated to the streets of Toronto Canada, young empress took to the beat boxings in neighbourhood and at school. Attented Islington jr high in etobicoke, allhough is wasn\\\'t easy being a new imigrant to Canada, empress used her smarts and quickly ajusted, with new found friends and \\\"NEW BEGING\\\" empress joined the school choir; and that is where it all begin her journey to stardom. Getting into fights attimes, but teachers, seen a great potential, and always advice her on focusing her creativity and talent on school work. She\\\'s jammed with some of Toronto best street rappers, singers and spoken word artist. \\\"My free time, was my moments where my pen dances to rhythms that I can\\\'t explain\\\" painting, beading, designing...and her many more talents...she i truly an Empress.
