Name: Raymond Whaley D.O.B: 05 - 17 - 1979 From: Southside Queens, N.Y. Aliases: Dirt Diggla, Dirty Bird. The Beginning…………. I was born in Brooklyn, East New York to be exact but I was raised in Queens on Sutter Ave. 1992-Six of us including myself started a rap group called Death Valley Platoon (D.V.P). 1994-I was introduced to Hannibal Smith who was then road manager to D.J. Ron G. We met that summer on Jamaica Ave in Queens, NY. To make a long story short we grinded together for 4 years recording songs. We put out a single “For tha Money” which had worldwide distribution through Beat Street Records located in Brooklyn. We performed at Rucker Park in Harlem during the Entertainers Basketball game. 1999-The year started off on a high note. I got word that (R.I.P) Jam Master Jay was looking for talent for his JMJ record label, by now we were called Platoon Fleet. After the audition Jay pulled Hannibal to the side (by this time Hannibal was our manger) to inform him of his interest in signing us. After about 6 months of getting the run around, we got our first taste of industry bullshit. JMJ folded due to financial problems. Fleet then split up as a group due to the countless disappointments. This was also the end of our relationship with Ron G, who basically stopped believing in us. Hannibal also left Ron G for his own reasons. 2003- I got involved in a group project called “The Alliance” which consists of three solo artists, “Nate tha Great”, Smuv uncut, and myself Dirt Diggla aka Dirty Bird. We flooded the streets everywhere with the Alliance mix tape CD’s. (Tha Takeover & Get in Step). MY PURPOSE………… Since I started rhyming and writing my own lyrics, I feel I bring to the game a new batch of lyricism on every level from party to street, life and death, love and hate. After 24 years of necessary growth, maturity, living and learning from all my past experiences, I believe I’ll be a breath of fresh air that nobody will want to exhale. The people need to hear Dirt Diggla. PRESENTLY………… It’s all about my growth as a man and as a solo artist, being heard, making an impact on the public and being the best representation of Hard Body Records, to which I co-own with my long time friend and now my business manager, Hannibal Smith. We just completed my solo album, Hiz-Story which is the first release off our independent label. With songs like P.O.W, Let’s get a Drink, and How We Roll, we can’t lose. We are finally getting the buzz that’s going to push us where we want to be, which is on top.
