Michael Tyrone Boyd was born in Baltimore, MD. At the early age of 5 because of a tragedy, he became an orphan, and was later raised in several foster home. During his very early childhood years he was drawn to music, and developed an intense love for it.This love of music dramatically increased especially after having a musical vision of him self performing on stage before a large audience at 9 years old. As a child he played piano, and sang in the elementary school and church choir as well. As he grew up he would often listen to the popular music of the day, and even emulate certain of the Motown artists with his friends in the neighborhood. Years later he joined the US Navy where he formed his first band, and often practiced as well as listened to lot of music aboard the aircraft carrier while at sea. Upon being honorably discharged Michael went to Los Angeles, California, to pursue his musical dreams. Thus, it came to pass that, while living there, that, he studied music theory, piano, sang in the college choir, too. Michael seriously studied, aand learned to sing professionally as a student attending Los Angeles City College. He also studied theater as well. Upon his graduation Michael began to get gigs performing as a chorus member in various musical productions. One of these productions was written, produced and staged by a legendary music producer by the name of Robert \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Bumps\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Blackwell .He is credited as being the discoverer of Little Richard. Michael was a member of the chorus of one of his productions, that, was later staged at the world famous Hollywood Palladium. Michael had the great opportunity and learned a lot from Mr. Blackwell during the rehearsals of the show in Hollywood. Mr. Blackwell told him one day.\\\"You\\\'ve got talent, but talent has to be cultivated\\\". he said. Not long after the closing of the musical at the Hollywood Palladium, Michael found work being a member of the chorus in a production staged by the Quincy Jones Workshop, that, was later staged at the famed Wilshire Theatre. Michael later performed in nightclubs and churches. Some years later after having performed in a number of stage plays as an actor, Michael got a film/television agent and began to do get some work before the camera. But his most well known work (under his then stage name Michael Tavon),as a film actor was as the character \\\"Thug 1\\\" in the Charles Bronson classic film \\\"Death Wish2\\\". Some years later Michael became involved with a locally produced children puppet show in which he performed his original songs playing acoustic guitar as well as telling children to say \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"No to drugs\\\", and he also read Bible passages in a dramatic way. That show became an underground hit with a large cult following. Michael eventually left that show to become a producer of his own cable access show.He also later produced his first Contemporary/Spiritual/Inspirational CD entitled: \\\"Spirit Survivor\\\" His newest project will be a collection of more secular music love songs with a CD comprised of romantic ballads with a forthcoming 2013 release.
