Bio
Sweet, sexy, sultry and sophisticated, with attitude to boot - DaoneRemmidy packs it all into one soothing elixir. Her sassy vocals & sultry moves tease the senses, making her stage performances feverish and electrifying. This versatile vocalist/songwriter/performer has an edge that's undeniable - an edge that attempting to put your finger on might end up hurtin' you real good. Hailing from Queens, NY, Naida Lopez a.k.a. DaoneRemmidy grew up surrounded by talent. She began writing and belting out her songs at a very early age. She is, after all, the grand-daughter of Ricardo Semanas Weeks who during his era was best known for his compositions for Dion and the Belmont's, which include "I wonder Why", "Teenager in Love" and "Sha Na Na" just to name a few. By the time she was 5, she'd written her own songs and graced stages throughout her native city. Remmidy performed as a member of several local girl groups over the years, but over the past decade she has continued to perfect her craft as a solo artist. With the support of her mom in her early teens she'd released her first hit dance single, "Trust" produced by DJ RomAnthony, of Grammy-winning-fame DafPunk's "One More Time." From there he and Remmidy went on to record & release a line-up of dance hits that include "It's not the same", "Get it together", "Do you think you can love me", "Up all Nite" & "It's on Tonight". The last dance hit released under that imprint was "Bump", which caught the ear of SLAAG Records owner, DJ Glenn Thorton. Together they've collaborated on a project that is sure to me the prescription Dance Music needs. Clearly an evolution of the House Music movement, the smash single "Goochie" is what they both define as Energy R&B, an off-shoot of Dance/House that has mainstream potential or more poignantly, the ability to transcend the embattled music genre. Be careful what you ask for. Not only does this exuberant Aquarian bring the energy, her exhibitionist nature brings the atmosphere. Now known to the world as Daoneremmidy, this driven songstress possesses the vocal cure her soothing delivery and raspy tone explain why she believes she is the "Elixir".
