R & B singer and songwriter Savon Smith has been singing since the age of seven and writing songs since age twelve. He joined the group First Impression at the age of thirteen in Spring Valley, New York. The group wrote their own songs and Savon was the lead singer of the group. They performed a few times at Club Caribbean in White Plains, New York. His love of sports took him away from music for several years until he relocated to Palm Beach, Florida in 2001. In 2003 he collaborated with Reggae artist Cha Cha Reble and formed the group Cha Cha Reble and Savon. The group combined Reggae and R&B similar to the Jamaican group Tanto Metro & Devonte. They released a single in 2003 called She Likes Me from the album Shorty is Naughty. In that same year they were presenters on the Reggae Soca Music Awards and presented well known artist Kevin Little with his very first award for best male artist. Also that year they opened up for Sean Paul in Atlanta, Georgia. They performed during the 2003 Reggae Sun Splash in Miami with Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Red Rat. The group performed for six months in Atlanta and opened for a number of reggae artists in 2003. Savon took a year hiatus from music and started his not for profit organization Savon’s Academy Stars. The organization uses sports as a tool to develop solid relationship between father and son and is backed by the Village of Royal Palm Beach. It serves as a vehicle to develop winners on and off the basketball court. He is well known in the Palm Beach area as Coach Savon and is dedicated to his son and motivating children through music, basketball and education. During 2004-2008 he built a fan base through the organization and was inspired to pursue music again by a close friend and former back up dancer Falana Little. Since 2008 his life has took a turn for the better and he wrote the new song A New Beginning which is also the title of his upcoming album. Hard work and dedication has always been his motivation and this time around he is more confident in his musical talents and hopes that his fans will enjoy his music.
