Bio
Bio: Formed in 2004 after high school friends Balunn, Adam, Jeff and Chris decided to knock up some tunes mostly for their own enjoyment. At this stage they were operating under the persona of 'Empire'. Influences of Seattle Rock (Pearl Jam & Foo Fighters) were clearly shown in earlier material. As the band's musical tastes expanded to other genres, including brit rock (Gomez and Radiohead) and electronica the music branched out to a new, fresh sound. In addition to new tastes the band's change in lineup and introduction of Andy on drums, allowed Chris to step up to the microphone and enabled a freer approach to songwriting and performance, as well as a need for a new name, hence 'Pilate'. With an average age of 19 and a new demo under their belt prospects are high and Pilate are ready for the next step, what ever that may be..... Sounds Like: Take two guitars, add one part britrock, two parts Seattle (circa 1993) and shake until well mixed before pouring over a generous serving of illusive bass lines that add a defiant smoothness remeniscent of Gomez-cum-Zeppelin's JPJ himself. Now add synth as desired before bringing together in the tallest glass of killer drums you can find, hence engulfing the mood in an epicity that resembles a certain Irish four-piece in waiting. Finally, sprinkle with a rich mixture of the finest harmonies and distinct vocal lines that are as addictive as myspace...... now just sit back, relax and take in the entire flavour as a whole and remember, you'd rather be here than anywhere else in the world...
