Bio
Ottawa duo, Skytone has the formula to turn shoegazers into stargazers with their debut, Echoes In All Directions. The Indie album, released by The Beautiful Music in 2006, packs a powerful punch by layering their tracks with emotion and sprinkles of glee. Comforting to listen to while driving in the rain, and diverse enough to keep you toe-tapping at the office, Skytone’s various arrangements are a breath of fresh air. Each song is different lyrically and musically, but each is also similar enough to know it’s Skytone material. The album opens by breathing you into an uplifting “Lindbergh.” A couple tunes later, you’ll reach “Just A Little Attention,” which could very well be a radio single, if I had to choose. It’s snappy, fun to sing along with, and is all-around good times. Echoes In All Directions is produced very well by Sol, who plays guitar, drums, keys and vocals in Skytone. Darius is the other half of the band, and plays guitars, keys, bass and contributes vocals as well. If you want to listen to something different, positive, catchy, and fun to sing along to, Skytone is definitely worth checking out. - Christine Atkinson ALBUM IS AVAILABLE ON ITUNES
