“IDENTIKAL’S BIO” Ramel and Terrel Hightower were born May 1, 1979. At the early age of nine, Their mother recognized that the two were gifted with beautiful voices and immediately put them in the choir to enhance their talent. She also recognized the different types of music they listed to, from R&B, Gospel, And Classical Rock, But Country Music was their favorite. By the time they turned 12 years old their mother found them stronger Management and representation. In 1991, Mr. Francis Larkin, of Chicago, Illinois, rose to the occasion to represent by way of manager, promising he would do all he could to land them a deal. He Immediately started doing showcases for very important people, Such as Mr. Benny Medina of Warner Brother Records, Mr. Don Perry of RCA/Caper, Mr. Darrel Simons of Motown, Mr. Jermaine Jackson, And Mr. Mustafa Farrakhan, the son of Minister Louis Farrakhan. While performing in a showcase the Identikal caught the attention of Mr. Dallas Austin who a month later signed Identikal to recording contract with R&Beats Records/Arista. Where they worked with producers such as Arnold Henning, Tim & Bob, and Collen Wolf. It seemed success was within arm’s reach but due to poor management, they were later dropped from the label. Disappointed in their representation, their mother knew it was time for a new start. Always very sure and confident that it’s their to sing they didn’t give up. In 1996 they signed with new management, Anthony Thomas of Danville, Illinois. Where they finished another album, Produced by Ralph Stacey, and Mike Donn. They performed a few shows with immature and even opened for the Patti Labelle, But it was a trying effort. Again disappointed by the inexperience of promotions on the management’s half the album went no where . Facing yet their biggest problem to date, their mother fell ill and was in a coma. They then dropped everything to take care of her, but never losing their dream, both what it ment to them and also their Mother. Sadly on August 19,2002 after several long years of fighting their mother passed away. While dealing with the loss they began write music to express their thoughts and feelings . In 2005 Identikal jumped back on top of their dream, promising themselves victory on their new album, recorded and produced independently with the help of long time friends and family. The album was completed in 3 months time, now with out a deal or any management Identikal has stepped up to the plate and taken on the responsibility’s of management ! And are even now knowing that Soon and very soon that their destiny will be. And that destiny is to do that which they were born to do sing!
